Make Money with Your Website!

Making money online has never been more simple. We are not suggesting that you can make millions in the next month or any of those outlandish ideas but with hard work and time (especially if you work smart) you can make some decent money from the comfort of your own home. If you already have a website there are some great things you can add that can help you to increase the profits from your website. If you don’t already have a site, perhaps you are looking for a way to make money online. Either way, this post is to help you with some ideas on what you can do for very little start up money that will help you to add to your income!

Programs for Affiliates & Resellers – These programs can be great because you have a lot of freedom and you get to choose what products, services or companies that you represent. If you already have a website you can join affiliate programs or reseller programs for things that pertain to whatever your niche is. If you don’t already have a website you can actually choose a program and then build a website around the idea. Make sure that you really do your homework before signing up with a program. If you choose to go through a company like Commission Junction which represents a lot of different advertisers you want to be sure that they have the most lucrative pay outs compared to other such companies or the advertiser directly. Just get the most for your work!
Advertising Space – If you have a site that is up and running and you get a fair amount of website traffic you may want to consider selling ad space. Be reasonable about your pricing but don’t get space away for nothing. Search engines aren’t fond of out going links so make sure that you get your money’s worth out of them. You can sell text links, ad units, pop up ads or banner links.
Pay Per Click Ads – No matter what you website is about there are probably pay per click advertisers that would love to partner with you. Pay per click advertising is one of the easiest because all you do is place links on your pages and if your visitors click on them, you are paid. It doesn’t matter if they go on to sign up or buy something, you just get paid for them clicking through. The pay outs on this are not great on a per click basis ($.10 would be a good pay out) but if you just put the links up you may be surprised at how quickly these pennies per click add up! It will shock you.
These are just a few of the things you can do but they are pretty fool proof. Just keep in mind that to make a website stand out and to get good rankings in the search engines you need key elements. One is great content. You need good keywords (use a keyword generator or finder such as Google). You also need to keep your content fresh. Nothing is more discouraging than to go to a site whether for products or information and have it not be updated since 2008. I recently was looking for a time sensitive topic and all I could find was an article from 2004. Naturally I was a bit unimpressed. This would have been great if they had another article updating the old information but the whole site had been dormant since 2004.
